Stoner Street Sushi

"Half-baked is one if not the greatest Stoner movies of all time and we believe this category is best summed up by the great, talented, and verbose Jon Stewart. Enhancement Smoker (Jon Stewart): 'Did you ever see Scent of a Woman?' Scarface: 'Yup.' Enhancement Smoker: 'You ever seen Scent of a Woman... on weed? That's the way to see it. It's just wacked.' This category attempts to capture the Enhancement essence, not necessarily ratings or anything like that, but movies, shows, or videos... well... high."

With medical marijuana and legalization on the rise throughout the United States, several projects have started media campaigns aimed at encouraging people in the public sphere to join the controlled regulation of cannabis. While there have been many other public service announcements concerning cannabis, such as The Flower PSA covered earlier, they do not directly advocate marijuana usage or they are not broadcasted on a larger scale than public access. However, the first significant marijuana commercial to be launched on a major network comes from MarijuanaDoctors.com in the video below.

lisa robin kelly as a kid
Lisa Robin Kelly was born on March 5th, 1970 in the mid-sized city of Southington, Connecticut, where she grew up, like many young girls, fantasizing about becoming an acclaimed actress similar to "The Bionic Woman," Lindsay Wagner, "Charlie's Angel," Farrah Fawcett, or the infamously sassy, yet quirky, on-screen journalist, Mary Tyler Moore. However, in 1992, unlike most pipe dreams, Kelly got her break at the ripe, young age of 21 on the set of "Married with Children" in the episode, "Kelly Doesn't Live Here Anymore" as a girl named Carol. While she played a rather insignificant one-time role in the episode, she started to gain notoriety in Hollywood for her gregariously inviting smile and voluptuous hair, which appeared as delicate strands of flowing gold rolling down onto her shoulders.

What is cannabis but a harmless flower? This is the question the Public Service Announcement above called "The Flower," created by Blackmustache studios in collaboration with music and sound designer Ion Furjani, asks in order to change the perspective on marijuana prohibition. The video begins in a vibrant and colorful Utopia, where upon finding a flower that when inhaled alters people to happier states of mind, a gentleman shares the flower with the people of his sunny world. Upon distributing the flower, some people accept its abilities, some are unaffected, and others simply pass it along to another recipient without complaint. Industrialization of the flower occurs. They grow the flowers on farms, cut them into bunches, package, and sell them at retail prices for everyone to enjoy. Not only does the businessman benefit, but the manufacturer does as well. Couples do not quarrel as much with the flower, patients are given alternative and holistic flowers for their ailments, and profit from taxes creates a thriving government, which in turn proliferates a shining society.

Ever since some of the most dedicated and beloved cast members of Saturday Night Live left in the 38th season including Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis, not to mention Seth Meyers recent transition to Late Night, SNL, like it has many times before, has left a gap open for a new cast full of vibrant and ecstatic featured players. However, this occasion is not the first time in history many big name actors have departed from SNL, leaving Lorne Michaels to search the world of talent for innovative individuals. Consider the period after the first five golden years between 1975 and 1980 for SNL. In 1980, Lorne Michaels is removed as the Executive Producer for the show due to complications with NBC, which resulted in SNL losing many of their big time players, who found lucrative movie careers anyways outside the show, such as John Belushi, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, Gilda Radner, and Garret Morris.

Stoner Sliders

Enhancement Smoker (Jon Stewart): "Did you ever see Scent of a Woman?" Scarface: "Yup." Enhancement Smoker: "You ever seen Scent of a Woman... on weed? That's the way to see it. It's just wacked." Tommy Chong

I was watching an episode of Sliders today and happened to run into two famous stoners, Tommy Chong and Danny Masterson. If you are unfamiliar with Sliders, its a Sci-fi show that aired a few years ago where the characters are stuck "sliding" or traveling around different parallel universes trying to return to their home dimension. This particular episode (season 3: episode 24 - Stoker) introduces Tommy Chong as a Van Helsing-like vampire hunter who is helping Quinn, the main character of the show, rescue one of his friends from the clutches of a Vampire rock band who want to turn her into one of their own. Tommy Chong's name is featured as one of the top cast members on the Netflix description of the Sliders series, so It was only a matter of time until he showed up somewhere.

Danny Masterson

Danny Masterson, aka Hyde from That 70's Show, also makes an appearance on the very same episode of sliders. However, Masterson plays the part of a Vampire groupie looking to earn his way into the ranks of the undead rockers. It was a nice bonus to have both of these cool cats make cameo appearances in one episode together. Be sure to check out this episode on Netflix.
