Vin “Sour” Diesel

Vin Sour Diesel
After strolling up to the local gas station and procuring a couple of White Owl Cigarillos, one of my personal favorites when it comes to wraps, my friends and I proceeded to gut the cigars with a knife and replace the contents with cannabis. However, we first needed an expansive rolling surface, as emptying out a wrap can be messy, not to mention you do not want to lose any stray ganja during the replacement process. Recently, I had been ironically gifted a painting of Vin Diesel, so I figured it would make an appropriate assemblage. Upon slicing open the Cigarillo and dumping the innards upon the portrait, immediately, I was struck by the similarity of the tobacco to hair. Miraculously, a mundane visage of Vin Diesel magically transformed into a large-scale game of Wooly Willy, the children's game that allows you to manipulate metal shavings resembling hair with a magnetic wand to create various combinations. While to some it may seem like a gimmick, this activity lead to at least 20 minutes of hilarious amusement, as we changed his facial hair and style continuously. Below are some examples of our fuzzy face frenzy. In short, this game shall be dubbed Vin "Sour" Diesel to commemorate the discovery in the context of rolling a blunt. Grab some paintings or photographs from your house and utilize your blunt guts or ganja to make your own funny photos, then send them to Stoner Schematics and we will host them alongside these Vin "Sour" Diesel pictures.

The Life of the Naturally Irrational

Naturally Irrational 9 - The Blinding Light on a Winding Path
Upon browsing one of the more recent collections of psychedelia inspired art on the subreddit, Baked Art, I stumbled across today's submission (featured above) in Stoner Art by the artist under the alias, Naturally Irrational. Personally, I have entitled this illustration, "A Blinding Light on a Winding Path," as I feel it sets the scene for the artist's entire album, The Life of the Naturally Irrational. A shadowy blue figure, perhaps an autobiographic projection of the artist himself, stands facing the threshold of a winding green and white checkerboard walkway, which contorts and tangles around itself, finally dissipating into an indescribable and unforeseen alternate universe. From the distance, a blinding yellow light emanates from the end of the mysterious pathway piercing the face of the specter, who is drawn into the eerie emission like a tractor beam. The drawing has a sense of weightlessness, though the cylindrical setting gives the sketch motion, especially as the edges of the path express intensity through the utilization of heavy, dark directional strokes. For me, the light represents each of our unique hopes, dreams, and aspirations that can only be obtained through persistence in endeavors, resilience against distractions, and excellence in production. In a similar manner to the nameless figure, who takes the first step toward their destiny in this fortuitous journey known as life, we do not know if our fate is enlightenment, depravity, or some grey region in between. However, we cannot sit idly by as others venture down that winding path without us. We can be afraid no longer. We must act, for if not now, then when?

One High Pilot

armandingo high pilot
Today's submission of Stoner Art on Stoner Schematics comes from a contributor to the subreddit, Baked Art, by the name of Armandingo. The high pilot above first caught my eyes as I gazed upon the assortment of artistic pieces cataloged by Armandingo. Remaining in black and white, the sketch utilizes slight variations in shadowing and highlighting to mimic the hazy smoke escaping the cannabis consuming converted respirator. Like the smoke, the portrait leaps off the page due to the selective use of diagonal strokes on the back of the pilot's chair leading the observer's eye frantically down to the pilot's intricately carved jumpsuit featuring crosshatching to center the viewer's attention. The pilot appears to be perched in the middle of a deep trance, concentrating on the task at hand as he takes a long draw with the same intensity he brings to breaking the sound barrier, enduring high-g turns, and withstanding heavy fire without resorting to pulling the handle to eject, all while saving an aftermath pack of smokes and a stash of sweet cheeba. No, this pilot did not fantasize about being called "Maverick" to fulfill some childhood silver screen delusion; rather, he became a pilot to experience the moment when time stops, when life and death becomes inconsequential, the terrifying sacrifice of trading bipedalism for flight.

Cannabis and the Lungs

marijuana lungs
One of the most common misconceptions still portrayed by the general, misinformed public is that marijuana has similar effects to tobacco inhalation on the human lungs. I am sure we all have heard someone stupendously try to say one joint of marijuana is equivalent to the effects of a cigar or five cigarettes on the lungs in terms of damage. However, numerous peer-reviewed, scholarly studies have disproved this nonsense, while many have actually found the medicinal benefits of cannabis to be quite spectacular for people experiencing asthma and even lung cancer. In a study by Donald P Tashkin called, "Effects of Marijuana Smoking on the Lung," he concludes "habitual use of marijuana alone does not appear to lead to significant abnormalities in lung function." In addition, Tashkin dismisses the possibility of cannabis causing more severe lung diseases by saying there is "no clear link to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease." The following video actually shows the residue left over from smoking marijuana, and many of you might find it quite surprising.

Fuck Reality

Watch this image for 45 seconds and then avert your eyes to surrounding objects to see an effect. It is amazing how the perception of reality aided by something so subjective such as eye sight can seem complete and absolute, when, in all reality, our comprehension of reality is augmented daily by illusion and mere ignorance of object. After taking a mind-altering substance such as peyote, lsd, or mushrooms many proclaim that they are accepting of a more diverse selection of activities than prior to the experience. Simply, things are not as we see them, and we must always take a skeptical point of view to combat the lingering presence of underlying ulterior motive.
