"Laws are changing everything around us as well as the world that cannabis lives in. Sometimes it is time to sit down the bowl and really focus on the issues. Well then pick it back up, politics is stressful..."
Currently, Marc Emery sits in the American Federal Prison system as the result of his abhorred removal from his own country under the pressures of United States Narcotics Agencies in an attempt to target him and cut funding for legalization. It is of the utmost importance that justice be served to Marc as he has not only donated to the community, been an activist for the cause, and overall helped to spur marijuana into mainstream culture, where it will never leave. On October 16th there will be a fundraiser for Marc and since he helped the cause when it needed it, we should do the same back by offering any amount of money we can spare. Visit the Free Marc website for more details on that. freemarc2 Donating money to the "Free Marc" campaign is a very direct way to be a help to the cannabis community, but it is not your only option though. Marc is looking to sign a sort of treaty between the United States and Canada which would allow him to be transferred home, to where he belongs. This process is in two parts: approval from the Canadian Public Safety Minister, Vic Toews, and approval from the US Department of Justice. This is where you come in, by writing to the representative parts and advocating for Marcs transfer. This can be done by contacting the following: U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division, Office of Enforcement Operations International Prisoner Transfer Program JCK Building, 12th Floor Washington, DC 20530 USA or The Hon. Vic Toews Parliament Hill Suite 306, House of Commons Justice Building Ottawa, ON K1A 0A6 Canada (or just e-mail him) - Toews.V@parl.gc.ca
